China’s Huawei has bagged its biggest BESS order to date and will supply the Meralco Terra Solar Project in the Philippines, which is considered the largest integrated solar and battery storage facility in the world.
[Manila, Philippines, August 8, 2024] Huawei Philippines launched its groundbreaking Smart Home Energy solution, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to help the country achieve a sustainable and energy-efficient future.
This strategic deal is said to be Huawei’s biggest project for an integrated solar photovoltaic and BESS facility to date. Under the agreement, Huawei will provide step-up transformers to connect to the 34.5-kilovolt busbar at the main substation.
Tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan’s Meralco PowerGen Corp. (MGen) has tapped Singapore-based Huawei International Pte. Ltd. to deliver the battery energy storage system component of the MTerra Solar project.
