Central to this vision is Huawei’s FusionSolar Smart String Energy Storage Solution (ESS). This solution will enable the Red Sea Project to independently meet its power needs. The microgrid solution addresses the intermittent and fluctuating nature of solar and wind power. It ensures the safe and stable operation of renewable energy systems.
Meanwhile, in Thailand, Huawei built Asia-Pacific’s largest single-site C&I PV and ESS plant at Mahidol University, including a 12 MW PV system and a 600 kWh ESS. “Huawei’s smart string and grid-forming ESS solution significantly improves a power grid’s ability to integrate renewable energy,” Xing explained.
Looking ahead, Huawei's Smart String Grid-Forming ESS is expected to be widely used in various scenarios, including renewables integration, weak power grids, and microgrids. It will help the high-quality development of the global new energy industry and lead the energy storage industry into a new era of grid-forming.
Huawei will continue to increase R&D investment in core technologies such as grid forming, energy storage safety, digitalization, and work with industry partners, including power grid companies and power generation enterprises, to promote the standardization of the global grid-forming technology.
Huawei works with ecosystem partners to provide power companies with scenario-based solutions, including power broadband operations, multi-station integration, smart zero-carbon campus, and integrated energy services.
The Electricity Connect 2024, held by Indonesian Electricity Society (MKI) and themed Go Beyond Power: Energizing the Future, took place in Jakarta from November 20 to 22.
